Since pre-Colombian times beans, squash, and corn have made up the Three Sisters of Native American diets. Here these ingredients combine to create a comforting dish that eases us into Autumn. Layers of tomatillos, butternut squash, corn, and black beans are set to simmer slowly for an hour. This is a great dish to make once and eat for a few days and is completely nutritious.
