In Mexico, people often drink aguas, which are combinations of water with other fruit juices. They are different from juices in the United States because water is the main ingredient, with just a light flavoring from the fruits. They are slightly sweetened with sugar, and usually have some lime juice for added flavor. This is Sophia's grandmother's recipe.
1 cup ripe papaya, diced
1 liter of cold water
2 tablespoons of sugar
Juice of one lime
Blend the papaya, water, sugar, and lime juice in a blender.
Strain into a nice jar and stir.
Serve fresh for some vitamin C.
